Presented by Trail Runners Club, a California nonprofit corporation for the benefit of the trail running community at no cost to participants.

This is not a race, but rather an exciting and scenic 9.5 mile trail run. It's a loop course, starting and finishing at the same location. The first mile is through a beautiful green canopied canyon, followed by scenic stretches on meandering fire roads with an elevation gain of 1400 feet.

This event starts on Saturday with a 1-hour boat cruise to Santa Cruz Island, and an 8 mile run from Scorpion Landing to Smuggler's Cove, or beyond, and back.  After returning to the mainland, runners have the choice of returning home, or spending the night in Ventura, and going to Santa Barbara in the morning and doing a 9 mile up and back (East Cold Spring Trail).  An up and back is a little more strenuous than an out and back.

Early (slower) runners arrive by 6:30 a.m. and begin run at 7:00 a.m.
All other runners arrive by 7:15 a.m. and begin run at 7:45 a.m.
