This run begins at Ray Miller Trailhead, and in a clockwise direction we take the shortcut to La Jolla Valley, and turn left at the 4-way intersection on to N.Overlook Fireroad.  The run proceeds straight on N.Overlook Fireroad, then right on the Guadalasca Trail , which zig-zags down to Wood Canyon and finally to Sycamore Canyon Fire Road.  We then go right on Wood Canyon Vista Trail then go left on Overlook Fire Road, and return via Ray Miller Trail.  A strenous run, but very rewarding--We are treated with  expansive ocean views where one can almost see the curvat

Sycamore Canyon/Serrano Valley Tr./Blue Canyon Trail

This run starts and ends in Sycamore Canyon, climbs up the Serrano Canyon Trail to Serrano Valley at an elevation of 1303 ft. with it's majestic views of beautiful Serrano Valley with rolling grassland meadows that are a lush green in winter and a golden brown in summer. From Serrano Valley we take a right onto Old Boney Trail, then continue left on Old Boney Trail, then left on Blue Canyon Trail, until it intersects Sycamore Canyon Fire Road. Then we turn left on the fire road and take it home about 4 miles to the finish.

One of the best runs in the San Gabriels. Passes through chaparral-coated slopes with expansive canyon views, lush conifer forest and streamside woodland, sampling the grandeur of the Big Santa Anita watershed. Basically, an 1800 ft. elevation gain to Mt. Zion in the first 4 miles, and a 6 mile gradual endorphin-pumping-descent paralleling the river back to Chantry Flats.

The trail head is at the top of North Kenter Avenue which junctions with Sunset Boulevard about 1¼ miles west of the 405 Frwy.  From Sunset Blvd. to the trail head at the top of North Kenter Avenue is about 2 miles and you know you're there because there is a large road barrier swing gate.  Parking is anywhere on the street prior to the gate. 

Ernie's Run (Westridge / Sullivan Canyon Loop)

This run starts at the end of Westridge Road and follows the fire road to Mulholland and the park at a former Nike Radar Station with a rest room and drinking fountain. We then go west on Mulholland to Sullivan Ridge and then down into shady Sullivan Canyon finishing with a climb up a steep and rugged trail to Westridge and the finish.

Circle X Ranch / Sandstone Peak

This extremely scenic run begins and ends at the Circle X Ranch parking lot on Yerba Buena Road. It heads out the Canyon View Trail, crosses Yerba Buena Road to the Sandstone Peak Trailhead, and continues on to the Mishe Mokwa Trail. The route goes past Split Rock and Tri Peaks before turning onto the Backbone Trail, passing close by Sandstone Peak (the highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains), and returns to Circle X Ranch via the Canyon View Trail. This course offers sweeping valley to ocean vistas, as well as views of spectacular rock formations.

Ray Miller Trail to Point Mugu

This run begins at Ray Miller Trailhead, climbs to a ridge with good views of Boney Mt., Sycamore Canyon, and La Jolla Valley before crossing La Jolla Valley. We then circle Mugu Peak before returning to the starting point. Long a favorite of the Trailrunners Club, this is Run # 8 in "50 Trail Runs in Southern California."

This run starts in Santa Ynez Canyon in Palisades Highlands. After a flat run through a cool, lush canyon, we climb to a fire road above Tripett Ranch. We continue up the fire road around Eagle Peak, along a level stretch with good San Fernando Valley and Ocean views and then drop down through Trailer Canyon to return to the starting point. This is Run # 18 in "50 Trail Runs in Southern California," and is a Thanksgiving Day tradition for the Trailrunners Club.

Tapia Park/Bulldog Road/Coral Backbone Loop

This run starts and finishes at Tapia Park and is one of the longer loop runs . The run goes through Tapia Park and past the site at which the TV series Mash was filmed. The run then goes up a very scenic trail and returns to the start with panoramic views of the valleys and surrounding mountains.

Will Rogers Loop via Temescal Ridge Trail

This is a loop course that starts and ends at the Polo Field in Will Rogers State Park. The run takes the beautiful Rivas Canyon Trail, with several great view points, to Temescal Park and the Temescal Park Waterfall. From the Waterfall, the run continues up the Temescal West Ridge to the Temescal Ridge Fire Road and then back to the Polo Field at Will Rogers State Park via the spectacular Will Rogers Backbone Trial.
