Strawberry Peak Circuit

mile 10.5
mile 10.5

After the 2009 Station Fire, these trails were closed for more than 4 yrs and reopened end of May 2014 and are now in perfect condition.
This loop circumnavigates Strawberry Peak. We will start at Clear Creek where it's easy to find parking and this way we can fill our bottles and packs at the water faucet at the Haramokngna American Indian Cultural Center at Red Box at mile 10.5.
We will be running on the Josephine Fire Rd, Strawberry Spur Trail, Colby Canyon Trail, Strawberry Peak Trail, Gabrielino Trail and finish of on the Nature's Canteen Trail.
OPTION: We will mark an optional out&back (total 3 miles) to Josephine Peak. It will be marked with OPT. Only for our faster and advanced runners seaking longer mileage.

Very enjoyable loop, nothing too steep or technical, a little longer than we are used to so bring plenty water and nutrition. DON'T UNDERESTIMATE RUNNING at HIGHER ALTITUDE. This loop is all between 4,000ft - 6,000ft altitude. For us sea level people that is a lung and leg burner.

ADVENTURE  PASS  for the National Forest is needed! Same as the one we use for Chantry. Buy at your local REI, SportChalet, Big5, Adventure 16. Make sure you have enough gas in your car, no gas stations up there!!!
